PAIN CLOTHING is a project about the gender healthcare gap and how our society still does not treat female bodies equally to mens bodies.
This project is based on my personal experience as a girl becoming a woman dealing with (chronic) pain within the current health care system in Europe.
The gaps in my images represent the data gaps which exist on female bodies.
With this work I want to share my personal experiences to raise awareness about an established system which can be harmful in specific situations.
The female body is often a tool of capitalism to sell "things". I wanted to rethink this concept. We wear clothing to hide or cover up our bodies but I wanted to create a collection of garments that take the "unseen" pain to the outside, visible to everyone.
I call this clothing line "The OVERLOOK(ED) BOOK".
BUT YOU DO NOT LOOK SICK?!
